WHCA’s mission is to inform, enlighten and entertain cable television viewers in Whitman and Hanson through the provision of training in television production, production facilities and cablecast time to volunteers and producers.

WHCA currently operates Public Access channel 9 which airs in both Whitman & Hanson.  Each town has its own Government Access channels; Hanson is channel 6 and Whitman is channel 12. Educational Access for Whitman and Hanson is available on channel 98.

Unless otherwise stated, the content of programs on WHCA’s public access channel (channel 9) is solely the responsibility of the producer(s) and does not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of WHCA’s Board of Directors or staff.  All programming on WHCA’s channels is also non-commercial.

Residents of Whitman or Hanson who are interested in participating in community television production are urged to contact WHCA to sign up for free TV production training. Residents with existing skills in TV production may qualify for a waiver of training. WHCA provides certain other services, such as free Bulletin Board announcements on topics of interest to viewers.

The WHCA staff consists of:

WHCA is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors composed of four Hanson residents and four Whitman residents. A vacant seat will be filled by a resident from the same town as the previous Director.  The WHCA Board of Directors meets monthly, usually on the third Thursday of each month.
